Andrew Chan & Yi-Fang Wu: Violin and Piano Duo


Join Andrew Chan (violinist) and Yi-Fang Wu (pianist) to explore the repertoire from Classical to Romantic period. The concert features Beethoven's most famous sonata for piano and violin "Spring" and Cesar Franck's violin sonata which was dedicated to his friend's wedding.

Andrew Chan, Violin

Holder of the FTCL, LRSM and LTCL Diplomas in Violin Performance, Andrew Chan was formerly a First Violinist with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. A scholarship recipient in violin performance, he studied with Harrison Ryker, Ben Cruft and Harry Curby in Australia. Andrew has given several solo recitals in California and enjoys playing different genres of music. He has been busy teaching and performing in the Bay Area.


Yi-Fang Wu, Piano


Wu studied piano performance in Master degree with Mr. Paul Schenly and Dr. Daniel Shapiro, and collaborative piano in Professional Studies with Ms. Anita Pontremoli at Cleveland Institute of Music. Wu has extensive collaborative experiences; she was the staff accompanist at the Cleveland Music Settlement, orchestra pianist at South Bay Symphony, and pianist at the San Jose Chinese Choir. Wu has collaborated with the musicians from Pittsburg Symphony, Colorado Symphony Orchestra, and Tucson Symphony Orchestra. In summer 2015, Wu attended the Castleman Quartet Program as a fellow pianist, and she is currently staff pianist at San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre-College division.
