Pianist Lisa Harrington will perform zesty bite-sized Spanish favorites by Albéniz, Granados, Turina, de Falla and Mompou – the fiery dance music of the Fandango, Farruca and Seguidillas, along with colorful travelogues from Asturias, Mallorca and Tangier.
The piano recital will be followed by a Spanish wine and charcuterie tasting with sommelier Samuel Bogue of Aatxe Restaurant. A feast for all the senses!

Later she received a master’s degree in musicology and a doctorate in piano performance at the University of Colorado, where she studied piano with David Korevaar. Her interest in the music and culture of early 20th-century France has fueled such projects as PICASSO/STRAVINSKY: MODERNISM IN BLACK + WHITE and a biographical study of the French pianist Marcelle Meyer (1897-1958). Dr. Harrington has performed across the country, and has given lectures and workshops for the Boulder Bach Festival and the Colorado Music Festival. She teaches piano privately and is the director of a summer program called Music FUNdamentals. She is currently living in Marin and working on a book about Meyer and the production of the avant-garde ballet "Parade."
